In November 2009 Teams4U visited Jinja in Uganda to provide some support to our partner AOET.
AOET had expressed a need for strengthening their management and leadership, therefore Teams4U worked with them to design a training programme tailored to meet their specific requirements.
The programme was delivered by small team of volunteers, specialists in these particular areas. The workshop was attended by those in management and senior management roles working in different areas such as healthcare, education and administration.
Here are some of their comments:
“It has been a healing and structuring process for me, especially in helping people develop individual objectives” James Luwaga, Country Director.
“It has helped me not to become stagnant” Nancy Tushabe, Volunteer Coordinator
“It has given me a good package of information to become an effective manager – I can go away and put it into action. I have already began to implement what I have learnt” Zacharia Muddu, Head of Health Department.
“The workshop has been very important to me, particularly in developing skills in effective communication and dealing with other people.” Aggrey Nsajuli, Administration.
“I thought it would be more passing on information but it has been a lot more interactive. It helps people discover themselves; people are empowered.” James Luwaga, Country Director.
