In Sadovoye, near Simferopol in Crimea, there is a boys reformatory which has been set up by a man called Alexander (Sasha) Bomdar. The reformatory hosts between 52 – 70 boys between the ages of 9 and 16 years old, many of whom have been living on the streets, been involved in crime or have parents who are alcoholics. The boys are brought to Sasha by the police or their families for a two-year programme from which 70% are successfully reintegrated back into society.
Children’s Activity Teams
We regularly visit the reformatory with teams to support Sasha and provide opportunities for the boys to have fun and develop new skills. We want to build self respect and equip the boys with foundational life skills. All our activities focus both directly and indirectly around the lives of children, enhancing their physical, emotional and spiritual needs to open up a future a world away from their past.
Donating equipment
Teams4U understands how important it is for Sasha to help the boys learn the skills that will earn them a living when they leave, helping them to break free from the cycle of poverty and crime that they came from.
We are always looking for equipment and resources that we provide to help Sasha teach the boys practical livelihood skills.
For example in the past Teams4U has donated money to buy a tractor help with the agricultural work Sasha does with the boys at Sadovoye. We also shipped computers for the boys to help develop their IT skills.
