Boys Reformatory, Crimea

Boys Reformatory, Crimea

About the Reformatory

Sadovoyer is a boys reformatory near Simferopol in Crimea set up by a man called Sasha. The reformatory hosts between 52 – 70 boys between the ages of 9 and 16 years old, many of whom have been living on the streets, have parents who are alcoholics or have been involved in crime. The boys are brought to Sasha by the police for a 2-year programme, from which 70% are successfully reintegrated back into society.

The Reformatory and Teams4U

Teams4U saw an opportunity through activity teams to give the boys a chance to have fun and build on their emotional and spiritual needs. Activities like sports, crafts and drama help the boys build self respect as well as equipping them with foundational life skills. We also provide Sasha and the boys with equipment and resources that they need to ehance their education and help them to build practical life skills....more

The future

We want to give these boys the chance to choose a different life when they leave the reformatory. Through more teams we want to continue to help raise their sense of self-worth and, through better education, open up more opportunities to assit them in building a better future for themselves.

Where We Work

Our work is varied and diverse. In Eastern Europe, through one programme, we are sponsoring the care and education of abandoned children;

In another project we are helping to refurbish an orphanage where children who lived in sewers, are now being offered a home.
