About the Hopsital

The AIDS and Infectious Diseases hospital for children is situated in Simferopol, Crimea. It provides healthcare to children and mothers, most of whom are living with AIDS.The hospital is struggling to provide basic services due to lack of funding from the state which provides the equivalent of $0.5 per child per day; basic antibiotics are equivalent to $3.0 per child per day. Lack of capacity also means basic hygiene and sanitation is extremely poor.

The Hospital and Teams4U

Sterile areas are non-existent and basic cleanliness difficult to achieve due to appalling conditions. Teams4U have been working with the management at the hospital to help improve the condition of the hospital facilities as well as to build the capacity of the doctors and nurses.Through teams we have helped refurbish wards, improving walls and ceilings, replacing windows and floor finishes, as well as decorating. The future

Teams4U will continue to work with the hospital staff to improve the standards of healthcare for the children in Simferopol. We hope to send out more teams to refurbish even more wards and provide further specialist training to improve the standards of healthcare for these children.
