We also work with groups of women in communities as they are often the ones that are marginalised in society.
In Urvind we have been taking small teams to do crafts, activities and basic health education with the women.
Our community teams provide women with the opportunity and space to spend quality time with each other, having fun and learning new skills.
Building people’s self-esteem and encouraging unity plays a vital part in people’s wellbeing.
Through skills development we focus on empowering them to take an active role in their communities.
The trust built through these relationships has also played an important role in the success of our children’s work.
“It was encouraging to realise that we were simply building on the foundation laid by Nicu and Miha over the years. We were getting close to these dear people in a real and practical way. This trip was an eye opener, an amazing experience which I am eagerly looking forward to repeating!" (team volunteer).
