Situated at Nangunga, Mukono District the school is a private school registered with the Ugandan Ministry of Education in 1999. At present the school is in rented buildings which are not ideal, but a site has been purchased and construction to build a brand new school in underway. The school already has new classrooms which are in use and Teams4U are currently helping to build a new dormitory.
Existing School
The school has around 380 children, several which also board at the school. The classrooms are very basic and extremely overcrowded. Some very basic benches but there is little in terms of equipment and resources.
There are some offices for the teachers and staff, but again these are cramped and lack appropriate equipment. Jackson and his wife also stay at the school but there living space is barely suitable. Instead of living in luxury, they use their income to pay the rent on all the current school buildings. They have also saved money to buy a plot of land on which the new school is being constructed.
New School
Jackson and Teams4U have worked together to form a plan to build whole school including various classrooms, dormitories, a dinning hall, kitchen, offices for staff, play area for the children and more.
Current projects:
The vision is a long term one which can only happen with continued funds. Teams4U want to give the children a quality education which they deserve. Education gives children the power and opportunities to free themselves from poverty.
